thanksgiving trip

hello all,
I am surprised my the lack of comments on my last post.  was it really that boring???
anyways, I have had a very interesting thanksgiving.  it all started on Wed. Cassie and I left for her parents house in MN and about 50 miles south og the mn, Iowa border the transmission in our car died. it will cost too much to repair ($2000!) so we decided to consider it dead and hopefully give it to God's Mtn for the derby.  but yes that means we are down to my truck which has so many problems that i can not list them all here.  I have been using my truck to go back and forth between home and the office (less then a mile round trip) i think i have put gas in it once since i moved to MO! (that is how little i drive it).  so we are in desperate need of a new car. (please pray for us).
anyways bc of that we spent the night @ the "cozy Inn motel" in Belmond Iowa.  it was a nice little town and the motel was not very cozy (the beds were terrible!).  but we managed to make the best of it.  Cassie's dad came and got us thurs morning and we had thanks in MN. her mom made a wonderful fesat!! that is when the trip really perked up!  wow was the food good! she made a 24 lb turkey!!! and it was so good and juicy! wow i want some leftovers right now jsut thinking about it!  anyways,  so the trip wasn't a total loss.  today (black friday) Cassie, Hannah (her sister) and I all went shopping! yes i know that is crazy but it is tradition (SP) now.  if you remeber  this time last year i pruposed to cassie, so this day has special meaning to us.  anyways i got some cool stuff for really chep (including a lot of dvds).  after all the shopping we got some lunch (@ 8 AM!) and went looking @ Barnes and Noble.  i use ot hate books but now i can go into a place like htat and spend hours and hours in certain sections.  it was fun.  then we met cassies parents and went to see happy feet.... DO NOT SEE HAPPY FEET!!!! it was not very good at all.  after seeing that i feel guilty for liking fish sticks bc i am taking away all the pinguins food.  and if you can't communicate to..whatever, then just dance and everything will be ok.  aka dancing is a universial language and it solves all the worlds problems :P .  yea.. it was boring and it had a huge agenda.  don't see it.  it isn't worth the $$$ wait to see it for $1 if you must...
well with that, i am so tired the keybord is a blur so I am off to bed.
please pray for cassie and I we could really use a car (if you want to donate one to my ministry or jsut give us one we would love that).  thanks and i hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving!

wow it has been a month since i posted that?? wow time flies.... ok well let's see. last night was TJAM, and i led this little 5th grader, Jeffery, to Christ.  it was really cool.  his father died and his mother is now re-married.  he has 2 brothers in jail and his sister has a baby, and the father is long gone... so it was good to help him get his life on the right track.
last weekend Cassie and I went to see the movie Stranger then Fiction.  it was pretty good.  Cassie liked it a lot.  it was interesting to see Will Farrel in a serious role.  he did a great job @ it too.  Dustin Hauffman (SP)was really funny in it too.  it is a good date movie.  i might see it again @ the cheap theater.

work is going great! I love working here for Midland.  i enjoy working on thier website (go look @ it, http://www.midlandministries.org ,).  and i love hanging out in the youth center, though the teens don't respect it very well.  Wed they were throwing everything they could get thier hands on @ eachother (like the carpet balls, pool balls and cushions).  and of course somebody else did it 1st.  is it just me or do teens nowadays not have the same respect for other people's property that i did when i was that age (or younger!)?  I don't know.  thier are a couple of the guys who can get very loud and somewhat violent.  one of them is the sorest looser and winner i have ever seen.  when he looses he gets ticked and says you were cheating and throws stuff.  when he wins he is yelling and shouting, and umm throwing stuff.... but what surprised me the most was Monday night.  Mon is usually SQ 632 (our weekly Bible Club).  but this week we went to a big youth event @ a local church called Take a Stand 360.  during the praise and worship time i was patrolling in the back, and i happened to notice that same group of guys.  and they were singing! and praying! and worshiping!! it was amazing.  it was a good reminder that what we are doing does matter and when we think we are not reaching them we are!  the event went on for 2 more days and those guys were there every night!  and they are @ every SQ 632 and our rallies.  they are seeking.  and it is my job to show them what they are missing and longing for, God.  Man I love me job.  I could never do anything else.  I hope you feel the same way about what you are doing.  if not then findout what God wants you to do and DO IT!  you will never be as happy as you will be when you are following God's Will for your life.  that is all for now.

so it's been awhile....

ok so I haven't posted in a long long time.  my last real post was about the wedding.  well to be honest with you i have been so busy since the wedding that I haven't had time to post really.  i appreciate Cassie posting about the cruise. it was a lot of fun and i want to go on another one soon.
ok so i will fill you in on what has happened since the cruise.
when we got back to Ellsworth (which is a $100 taxi ride just in case anyone was wondering). we talked to the guy who owned the apartment we were going to rent.  he said that he thought we were going to be moving sooner then we said so he rented it out.  so we were moving in a week and had no where to move to! to make a long story short (at least this part of it) we did a lot of praying and calling and finally found a 1 bedroom house that we are living in now.  we found it 2 days b4 we moved.  it was getting kind of stressful there but we trusted that God would take care  of us and he did.  once we moved in (2 trips to get everything and return the trailer and such). I hit the ground running with Midland.  the 1st weekend was a fall festival for the southside of St Joseph.  and it was right in our backyard! LITERALLY! so of course we had to do something.  we had the youth center open and sold slushies and nachoes and even had this giant 3.5 story slide out front for part of it! and i was here for almost 36 hours that weekend. (fri and Sat we weren't open on Sun, thank the Lord!).
after that I have been  getting settled in here @ Midland.  i have been to my 1st staff meeting, where Shane and I got into a knife fight (I won of course), I am JUST KIDDING (sort of). we were just playing around. i had to defend my laptop! lol anyways and Midland hosted an open house for me here @ the Midland Center.  they served ice-cream and i gave my testimony and talked about what brought me here.  afterwards they prayed for Cassie and I and it was a great day.
I have had my 1st quiz with Midland which went so smoothly, i could have taken a nap a couple of times throughout the day!  we have this new software for scoring that works really well! one of the teenagers here wrote the entire thing! (great job Duncan!!!!).  this quiz was it's test day and it pasted with flying colors.  it was so nice to start @ 1 and to have the quiz be less then a mile from my house.  I did get there early (10 AM!) but i still got to sleep in on a quiz day! it was awesome! and we had the stats done by the time i left the church so i got to spend the evening with Cassie, which she liked a lot.
all in all i really like working for Midland.  i live about 2 miles away, and they have given me a ton of freedom to do what i feel led to do.  let me walk you through my weekly schedule:
Mon- get to the office @ 9 (by choice) and work until 3. then I open the youth center and play video games or carpet ball with the teens that come in until 6:30.  well 6:32 to be exact.  that is when SQ 632 starts.  that is the Southside Youth Outreach Bible Club starts.  it is run by Shane and Jon.  all i do is help with sound and the power point.  it is a great club.  it is more like a weekly rally though bc it averaged 60-70 a week! so it is a big ordeal every week.  afterwards i run the youth center until everyone goes home.
Tues- sleep in until I want to get up, then i go into the office.  work there until 3 when the youth center opens and i play and hangout with the teens until 6.
Weds- get to the office @ 9 and work on computers, website, ECT until 3 again for the youth center until 6 when i get home to a home cooked meal by my wonderful cook of a wife, Cassie!
Thurs- i get here about 9 as well and work until 4 or 5 (no youth center today) and then i go home eat real quick and head to TJAM (Thursday Jesus And Me).  it's the 5th and 6th grade Bible Club.  wow 5th and 6th graders are funny. anyways i run sound there in my little sound booth and hangout with the teens.  it's fun.  i go home and watch My name is Earl and of course The Office with Cassie to wrap up the night.
Fri- come in @ 9 and work until whenever and go home.  (also some Fri are rallies so i have to go to them, like tomorrow, 10-20, is our powercharge!).
so there you have it.  my week.  we have a quiz the 1st weekend of the month and a rally the 3rd weekend of the month so the other  2 (or sometimes 3) is mine to spend with Cassie!  it is a lot less busy then my schedule @ TFC.  so i get to spend a lot more time with Cassie then i would when i was working for them.
so there that is what i have been up to in the past month and a half.  now leave a comment!
